Fall is the time of change. Change in the weather, change in the leaves, as well as a change of self. Fall, to me, is a time of season, to start over and create new goals in life. I’ve recently felt a change in myself, turning 21 and not because only I’m able to drink legally, but I feel like an “official adult”. I’ve started to think more towards my future and focus more on myself in order to reach those goals. Fall for me means vanilla chai tea lattes, It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, Haunted Houses and Corn Mazes and over sized sweaters, combat boots, and anything yellow!
I was able to direct this photo shoot up in Breckenridge early this September. It was my very first photo shoot for Fashion Report Co And IT WAS A BLAST. It was mind boggling to see the significant change in color in the mountains compared to the Fort Collins still unchanging scenery during the first week of September. I was blessed to have an amazing photographer, Ashley Potts and four gorgeous models, Chelsea Evic, Katherine Ruddy, Ashley Mcintire, and Chloe Hoffner-Heinike. We adventured all the way up to Breckenridge for the day. Each model was asked to express their fall style and color, and have a personal bio about themselves and what fall means to them….
I’m Chelsea! I am a sophomore at CSU majoring in Apparel and Merchandising and minoring in Media Studies! I am from Arizona and there, fall doesn’t really exist. There are no changing leaves, the air doesn’t get too cold, and you have to travel pretty far to get to the closest pumpkin patch. However, in spite of all of this, fall was still my favorite season! I would still wear my favorite deep colored fall sweaters even when it was way too hot outside. I would constantly burn fall candles so my room would always have the scent of pumpkin and cinnamon. I would even make the 2 hour trip to the pumpkin patch every year! Now that I live in Colorado, my dream to live in a fall wonderland has finally come true! In Colorado, I am surrounded by fall leaves as soon as October rolls around, and the air actually gets cool enough for me to wear sweaters and all of my favorite fall accessories! I love pulling out the dark colored booties of suede and faux leather, the mustard, deep plum, and forest green sweaters, and the soft plaid scarves! Not to mention all of the deep lip colors and eyeshadow shades that are fun to play with this time of year! The crisp cool air, the changing leaves, the delicious smells, and the signature fashion and makeup trends all represent what fall means to me. I feel so lucky that I can now experience all that my favorite season has to offer in the beautiful state of Colorado.
My name is Katherine and I am a sophomore in the Apparel Merchandising program. I am an out of state student from Chicago, Illinois and I love exploring Colorado by hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, and biking. My favorite part about fall is the new and recurring trends that pop up once the weather is perfect. I love layering items and wearing hats, booties, and scarfs. It is always so interesting to see what new trends are arising for the fall season, and which ones I will wear. I currently love oversized items, they give a look some extra style while still keeping you as comfortable as can be. To me, fall is about gathering friends, family, and strangers together. As the pumpkin patches and festivals start to open, everyone is brought closer together through pumpkin flavored treats and apple cider.
My name is Ashley, in psychology major with a criminology minor and I’m a sophomore at CSU! I was born in raised in Illinois and moved out to Colorado 2 years ago. I love cuddling up with a blanket and drinking apple cider. One fall trend that I love is oversized sweaters, they’re so cozy! Fall represents a time for transformation both personal and in the environment. It is a time to reflect and embrace the natural changes around you.
My name is Chloe Hoffner-Heinike or H2 for short. I’m a fashion student here at CSU. I grew up in Greeley, Colorado. In the fall, I love going up into the mountains with family and taking a walk through the changing leaves. My favorite fall trends are wearing beanies and cardigans. To me, fall is getting ready to cozy up in big blankets and drink warm tea.
A random thought of mine, but I thought it was the best time to talk about this subject with fall already being here with change happening so fast before our eyes. IT’S CRAZY. It’s never too early or too late to change your direction of career in life. Which brings me to the subject of rushing things. Our generation is focused on taking the fast track or the easy way out to get a career and in the end some may feel that they should have slowed things down. If you think this is you, I urge you to take a step back and rethink what you want to pursue in life.
On an ending note, life may change and fade too fast sometimes but when life seems all over the place, take a breath and step back to allow yourself to come back to a positive mindset.
