Tip #1: Try a New Way of Eating!
I am no dietitian, but from personal experience, eating more of a paleo based diet (mainly consisting of meat, fish, vegetables, fruit, eggs and excluding grains, dairy products and processed food) has worked wonders my physique! I found that loosely structuring my diet around this paleo concept wasn’t too hard once I discovered healthy, good-tasting alternatives to my favorite unhealthy foods. For me, limiting grains/carb-heavy foods and adding more healthy fats and protein into my diet was when I saw the biggest difference in my body. It wasn’t just the change in my physique that excited me, but I also felt better too!

Tip #2: Find a Way you Like to Work Out!
This tip may seem obvious, but there are many people who think of working out as a chore. It doesn’t have to be though! If you don’t like running miles on the treadmill, then don’t! If lifting weights isn’t for you, then don’t! There are sooooo many different ways to get in exercise and stay fit! You just have to find the way that works for you. Of course, this requires research and trial and error. A source that has been extremely helpful to me is youtube. I have learned so many things about fitness and health this past year thanks to youtube. Obviously you don’t have to trust and follow everything you learn from youtubers, but it is a great way to get inspiration and broaden your horizons about the fitness world. Since following fitness gurus, I have found a passion for weight training and yoga which I didn’t have before! I have a whole new outlook on working out and actually look forward to it! When you find a way to work out that you enjoy, you are more likely to stick to it!
Tip #3: Don’t be too Hard on Yourself!
If you miss a workout, it’s not the end of the world! If you give in to your cravings and indulge in 3 slices of pizza for dinner, it’s okay! Don’t ever starve yourself if you’re hungry or push yourself to do a workout if you know your body needs rest. As long as you’re doing your best to live a healthy lifestyle, making healthy choices when you can and getting in a workout when you can, that’s all that matters! Stay positive!
