What is more lovely and romantic than roses? How about bathing in a rose petal bath! But I am not talking about your normal petal laden bath, or anything remotely close to that scene in American Beauty. Instead, with this simple DIY recipe you can enjoy a beautifully scented and bubbly rose bath any time!
Since this quick craft does not call for any real flowers, you can reuse the silk numerous times if you would like. These soaps make a wonderful gift for a special someone in your life. All of the materials you will need can be bought at your local craft store.
What you will need…
1.) One package of soap base (ex. Natural Melt & Pour)
2.) Two-dozen silk rose/flower petals
3.) Wax paper
5.) A fragrance of your choice
6.) A microwave and microwavable safe bowl
1.) Break off a few pieces of the soap base, put them into the microwavable safe bowl and microwave them for 30 second intervals until they are completely melted. (Do not let the soap boil.)
2.) After the soap is melted, add a few drops of your fragrance choice and stir the solution well.
3.) Take one silk petal with the tweezers and completely submerge it in the soap.
4.) Once the petal is covered in the soap, lay it to dry on a sheet of wax paper.
5.) Repeat steps 1-4 for the remaining silk petals and remember to reheat the soap base if it starts to harden before you are done with all the petals.
6.) The dry petals can then be peeled off the paper and stored in an air tight container until you want to use them.
These petals make would make a great and thoughtful gift for your Valentine. Though I do not think anyone would say no, no matter the occasion! You can put them in little gift bags as party favors or even sprinkle a few into a running bath for a sweet smelling and bubbly twist.
I personally like to put mine in a little bowl next to the sink to use individually. Guests love them too, since it adds a nice unique touch!
