Getting to the gym can be tough, especially with a busy schedule and bad winter weather (no one really likes to go out in the snow unless they have to). But if you still want to get a full body workout (swimsuit season is just around the corner) then do not worry, for you can do a full workout without leaving the comforts of your dorm or home.
This exercise is great for your abs, back, thighs and best of all, your butt! All you need, is to find enough space in your room and get down on all fours. If you want you can use a flat pillow under your knees as cement floors tend to not be the most comfortable places in the world. Hold in your abs and kick one leg towards the ceiling then alternate and use your other leg. Keep this up until you start to feel the burn.
With this exercise you simply sit down on the floor and lean back with your arms supporting your weight behind you and your feet firmly planted on the ground. Then lift your legs and arms at the same time. Place your arms wherever you feel will give you the best balance, just not on the floor! This is one of the best ab workouts and all you have to do is keep your balance! Easy right?
You are going to need a little more space for this one. Start off by stretching out on the floor with your body as if you were in the middle of a jumping jack. You should somewhat resemble a starfish. Then touch your right hand to your left foot and then alternate back and forth. Feel free to allow your body to raise off of the ground while doing this (you do not need to keep your body flat). By lifting your body off of the floor you engage your core even more. This exercise truly works your entire body, but especially your abs and butt.
Back to the basics. Jumping jacks are great because they work your entire body, and if done fast and well enough, they are great form of cardio without taking up a lot of space. Going to the gym can sometimes be out of the question, either because of our busy schedules or because of the weather. But that does not mean your body or health needs to suffer. Adding in a few good exercises daily will really change your body in the long-term, no gym membership needed!
